The Moroccan was handed the mantle at the start of October, but with just one win since his appointment, the club has decided to pull the plug.

Former Bandari head coach Bernard Mwalala, who is currently serving as an assistant coach at Shabana FC, is the club’s primary target to take over.

A source within the club revealed that Borji’s exit is part of a wider plan to revamp the team. The restructuring began on Tuesday with the dissolution of the club’s Board of Trustees, leaving CEO Tony Kibwana as the only member retained. The technical bench is also set for a full overhaul.

In a statement from Kibwana dated Thursday, 11 December, the departure of Borji and his assistant Tarik Bendamou was confirmed, with coach Razak Siwa tasked with overseeing the match against Gor Mahia on Friday.

"Bandari Football Club announces that the club has parted ways with Head Coach Mohamed Borji and his assistant Tarik Bendamou, effective immediately.

This decision follows a review of the team's technical direction as the club focuses on re-strategising its performance. We thank Coach Borji and Tarik for their contributions during their time at the club.

The club will, in the coming days, announce new technical arrangements. In the meantime, Coach Razak Siwa will oversee the upcoming match," read the statement.

Borji began his Bandari tenure with two goalless draws against AFC Leopards and Mara Sugar FC before suffering a 3-1 defeat to Nairobi United.

He then drew one all with KCB FC before earning his first and only win, which was a 2-0 victory over Sofapaka.

The result was followed by a goalless draw with Bidco United, a one-all stalemate against Ulinzi Stars, and his final straw was a 1-0 loss to league debutants APS Bomet.

Bandari currently sit in 14th place with 12 points, only above the relegation zone on goal difference. With just two wins from eleven matches, the team faces a real relegation threat unless their form changes quickly.
