Simba team manager Selman Makanya confirmed to Nation Sport on Saturday that both players have penned two-year contracts, with an option for extension.
“The signings are part of the team’s restructuring ahead of the new season, which kicks off in a month.
As part of the preparations, we also parted ways with 11 players, including three Kenyans, and we wish them all the best,” said Makanya.
Adhiambo, 19, joins Simba from FKF Women’s Premier League side Ulinzi Starlets, where she has played since 2023.
The midfielder previously turned out for the now-defunct Kangemi Ladies and is a former Dagoretti Mixed Secondary School student.
She is expected to link up with her new teammates on August 15 ahead of the club’s pre-season tour.
“This new challenge is part of my football growth,” Adhiambo said. “I’m excited about the deal; it’s a big achievement for me, and the financial benefits are also good.”
Shilwatso, meanwhile, returns to familiar territory, having featured in the Tanzanian league during the 2023/24 season with Fountain Gate Princess.
She later secured a move to Turkish Women’s Premier League side Beşiktaş on a free transfer last November.
The midfielder previously starred for FKF-WPL’s Vihiga Queens, where she won three consecutive league titles (2017–2019), and had stints with FC Kryvbas in Ukraine and EDF Logroño B in Spain.
The duo joins a Simba side already boasting several Kenyan internationals, including midfielder Corazone Aquino, defender Ruth Ingotsi, and winger Elizabeth Wambui.
Ingotsi, who signed in 2022, remains the longest-serving Kenyan at the club.
In their ongoing squad shake-up, Simba has released 11 players, among them Harambee Starlets striker Jentrix Shikangwa, defender Wincate Kaari, who returns to rivals Yanga Princess, and goalkeeper Caroline Rufaa.
Founded nine years ago, Simba Queens are the most successful side in the Tanzanian top flight, tied with current champions JKT Queens with four league titles each.
Simba clinched the 2022 Cecafa Women’s Champions League and reached the semi-finals of the CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco the same year, bowing out after a narrow 1–0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.
