Elsewhere, promotion hopefuls Equity FC lock horns with Nairobi City Stars, while the battle to avoid relegation intensifies with Luanda Villa, Darajani Gogo and Kabati Youth all in action.

All eyes will be on Mombasa Sports Club, where Mombasa United welcome Migori Youth in what is widely billed as the biggest match of the round.

The two sides are level on points, separated only by goal difference, underlining the razor thin margins in this season’s fiercely contested title race.

With just seven matches remaining, Sunday’s encounter carries the weight of a potential title decider.

Migori Youth arrive in imperious form, riding a four match winning streak and brimming with confidence.

The Sammy Otulo coached side has been particularly formidable on the road, registering eight away victories, one of the most impressive records in the league, and will be aiming to extend that run.

A major boost for Migori is the return of talismanic striker Syphas Otieno, who marked his comeback in style last weekend, coming off the bench to net his 18th goal of the season in a resounding 4 0 win over Nzoia Sugar.

Speaking ahead of the clash, head coach Otulo acknowledged the magnitude of the encounter but remained optimistic.

“The clash against Mombasa is definitely going to be a cracker. We are facing a formidable side that has made their home a fortress, which makes it a close call. However, we are determined to rewrite that narrative,” he said.

“Having our top marksman back is a huge boost. He was key in the first leg, and he will be critical again on Sunday.”

Migori will also be targeting bragging rights, having edged Mombasa United 3 2 in the reverse fixture in Awendo.

However, Mombasa United, currently second, will be equally motivated.

The coastal side is chasing a third consecutive victory and knows that a win would see them leapfrog Migori to the summit at a decisive stage of the season.

Backed by a formidable home record, coach Hamid’s charges will also be keen to avenge their first leg defeat and reassert control over the title race.

With both teams aligned in ambition and separated by the finest of margins, the stage is set for a thrilling and potentially defining contest.

At Mashuuru Complex, Equity FC face Nairobi City Stars in another pivotal encounter with significant implications at the top end of the table.

Equity, sitting fifth on 57 points, remain firmly in the promotion conversation.

Having recently snapped a run of back to back draws with a crucial victory over Vihiga United, the Bankers are eager to build momentum.

A win on Sunday would see them reach the 60 point mark and potentially close the gap on the leaders, depending on the outcome in Mombasa.

Coach John Kamau Mbweza’s side is chasing a historic maiden promotion to the top flight and will view this fixture as a must win.

Nairobi City Stars, on the other hand, find themselves in a relatively pressure free position. Sitting 12th with 37 points, their hopes of immediate promotion have faded.

However, their recent struggles, just one point from their last seven matches, will fuel a desire to finish strongly.

Notably, City Stars claimed a 2 0 victory in the reverse fixture and will be keen to complete a double over Equity, adding further intrigue to the contest.

At Mumboha Grounds in Luanda, Luanda Villa host Darajani Gogo in a match that carries enormous weight in the relegation battle.

Luanda Villa, currently 14th with 32 points, come into the match buoyed by a morale boosting 2 0 win over Kisumu All Stars.

They will be targeting consecutive victories for the first time in months, a result that could lift them further away from the drop zone and provide much needed breathing space.

Darajani Gogo, meanwhile, have shown signs of resurgence.

The Kibera based side has climbed out of the relegation zone in recent weeks and now sits on 28 points.

A win on Sunday would see them cross the 30 point mark and strengthen their grip on survival.

With both sides precariously positioned, the encounter represents more than just three points, it is a battle for survival.

The final match of the day takes place in Murang’a, where Kabati Youth host Nzoia Sugar in another crucial relegation encounter.

Kabati Youth, in their debut season, have endured a difficult campaign and currently sit on 27 points.

Victory would see them climb to 30 points and significantly boost their chances of survival.

Their opponents, Nzoia Sugar, will be eager to bounce back from a heavy 4 0 defeat to Migori Youth.

With 42 points, they remain within touching distance of the top five and will be determined to finish the season strongly after falling short in the promotion race.
